I love teaching. I love watching the light come on in a student’s eyes when they make connections, and the joy they feel when they can share that with others. I love when students think differently than I do and can justify their mathematical reasoning. With over three decades of teaching and coaching mathematics, including supporting multilingual students in sheltered classrooms, I have observed that students excel when expectations are high and they feel safe making mistakes. 

Now retired from teaching, I am in my fourth year working with 2Partner as a Secondary Math Specialist. My work has provided me with the opportunity to share my passion for teaching mathematics with school leaders, teachers, and students. As a math specialist, I work collaboratively with individual teachers, grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and principals to create and implement effective systems and lessons that focus on student understanding. I believe that when our focus is on making sense of the mathematics, all students can be successful.
